Social Development

We provide effective solutions to complex challenges and help our clients achieve outstanding results.

The goal of social development is to improve the well-being of every person in society so that they may attain their maximum potential. The well-being of every individual is connected to the progress of society.

Investing in people is part of social development. It necessitates the elimination of impediments so that all people may go toward their ambitions with confidence and dignity. It is about refusing to believe that those who live in poverty will always be poor. It is about assisting individuals so that they may progress toward self-sufficiency.

We believe that every Somali must have the chance to learn, develop their talents, and make important contributions to their families and communities. They are better able to satisfy their fundamental requirements and achieve success if they are healthy, well-educated, and trained to join the workforce and if they can earn a living income. Their families will likewise prosper, and society as a whole will reap the benefits.

Somali Research and Development Consulting (SRDC) conducts research of various types and forms in the Health, Education, Climate Change, Mitigation, and Adaptation social development sectors.

We undertake the formative, process, and summative evaluations, as well as Knowledge, Attitude, and Practices (KAP) surveys, among many others. We also provide expert policy advice on the same sectors.

Community Consultations

The foundation of genuine community development is based on community consultation, a participatory process. It gives people the opportunity to express their own concerns and determine the best ways to deal with issues that directly affect them.

Participants in our community consultations set their own goals and objectives for services and programs, which we then use to calculate their efficacy.

Participatory Action Research

Through the use of participatory action research, we hope to place the power of research in the hands of those most directly impacted by a program or project. Participants, practitioners, and members of the community all play a role in PAR’s participatory nature. In order to better understand and improve the practices and situations in which they participate, stakeholders must engage in a process of collective, self-reflective inquiry.

Individuals or communities affected by this process should feel more in control of their own destinies as a result of this process being tied to action.

Third Party Monitoring

Organizations can benefit from Third-Party Monitoring (TMP) in a variety of ways, including monitoring projects that are otherwise inaccessible to their own staff. As a bonus, it offers an objective assessment of the project’s progress.TPM is performed by SRDC on behalf of clients to evaluate the current status and performance of a specific project or program. All of this includes a review of its compliance status and any new issues that may have come to light.

The commissioning organization and the implementation partners can use TPM to improve their monitoring capabilities. It can also be used to keep tabs on high-risk or contentious projects.

Monitoring Frameworks

Social, cultural, economic, and political conditions of various stakeholders are examined as part of socio-economic research. This includes both individuals and groups and the communities and organizations in which they live.

SRDC uses systematic and objective processes to conduct socio-economic studies and analyses, ensuring consistency in comparisons and reasoned judgments.

We will continue to produce major policy and research reports that address important national issues on an ongoing basis.
